Want to know the secrets to building muscle strength?  With increased muscle strength you will be able to lift heavier weights which means that more muscle fibers will be broken down and bigger muscles will grow.   It’s a non-stop loop, but how do you continue to increase your strength on an ongoing basis?  Here’s what you need to do:

Lift For Strength

Building muscle strength requires you to lift in a different way than you would for muscle growth.  What you’re going to do is find a weight you can only do 3-6 repetitions with and work with that for all your exercises.  This will work on developing your muscles specifically for strength.

Start With A 6 Rep Weight

First, pick a weight that you can do around 6 reps with, once you’ve done the reps, make sure you have a long enough break before you go for another round of reps.  Normally you would wait 1 minute, but seeing as how we’re training more intensely and for strength, you may need more time to recuperate.

Once you feel you’re ready, go at it again for around 4 reps or until failure.  Keep this going until you’re down to only 3 reps, then switch to another exercise where you can start at 6 all over again.

Where To Go From Here:

Now if you continue to lift in this rep range you will find that your strength will keep increasing with each new training session.  From here, you can choose to either continue upping your strength, or switch to working for muscle size.  If you switch to working for muscle size, you will find you make some crazy gains since you’re working with much heavier weights in the 6-12 rep range due to the strength increase.

If you’re really serious about building muscle strength, there is an intense training regimen which will pretty much guarantee you shoot up in strength and mass.  It’s pretty hardcore though, but if you’re up for the pain, check this out: click here for more info.
